As we were crossing the Colorado River near De Beque (here), we caught this view of Mt. Logan (peak on left)

a massive, vertical cliff on the eastern edge of the 'Roan Plateau', resulting from hundreds of millions of years of erosion.

 

Along the way, we saw many rafters and kayakers floating down the river,
(or in this case, just hanging out).




 

The raft in the photo immediately above went throug this immediately before we saw them floating by...

Here you can see some of the handiwork of the designing and building engineers that put I-70 through Glenwood Canyon.




 

Nice view of New York Mountain(the knobby bunch, about an inch and a half wide, just barely left of center) in the background.
This is looking directly south from right abouthere on I-70, just west of Edwards.
The funny thing is that, it's only 12,550', while the taller, more pointy peak to the left is 12,782', but isn't named on the map.

Almost every time we travel home on I-70, we hit a storm of one sort or another.
This time, it waited till we got out of the mountains.
