One of our regular stops on the way home is the overlook at Ridgway State Park.



It's neat to see what people are doing on the water; fishing, sun-bathing, water-skiing...



 

It's also like our last little look back at the Sneffels Range before leaving the area
(though we can see Mt. Sneffels [center here] itself from much further north)

Just south of Montrose, there is a neat, little spot with a bunch of antique and nic-knack shops on the east side of the highway...

This is one of our favorite parts of the trip each year;
stopping at Helmer's roadside store to get some fresh, Colorado produce.

We love the peaches, apricots and cherries, but they have lots of other neato things as well.














 

This was our driver-change stop; just west of Palisade,
and up into the little canyon that leads eastward from the Grand Valley, immediately north of the Grand Mesa
