Tuesday, July 19th, 2011 - Hanging out in Ouray | Fossil Hike | Perimeter Trail
There is a trail called the 'Perimeter Trail' that goes all the way around town.
On this occasion, we accessed it on the east side, on the edge of a neighborhood.
Interestingly enough, this access point was identified as a trailhead for the Upper Cascade Falls (far above)...
We have hiked in this general area before, and never saw this. So, I assume it's a fairly recent addition;
a shrine of sorts I guess...
This is the view out over town and across the valley from this spot...
This is a gorge cut by Portland Creek as seen from the bridge that crosses over it at the entrance to the 'Amphitheater' campground
(a managed National Forest campground) on the southeast edge of town.
On our way back through town to where we parked, we saw this littel guy wandering around in someone's yard.
Once we got back to the FJ, we realized it was feeding time in the neighborhood...
