Sandi, the Fossil Journey Cruiser:
a Boulder Sandstorm at Every Fork in the Road

Bill Moore Lake with FJinCO (and a couple guys in a Jeep) (20100619)

Here are a couple more snow obstacles we had to get through.
Of course, there were quite a few others, but I'm just showing the main ones that posed some level of challenge.

On this one, again, I went first to bust through the snow;
partially because I had the most enthusiasm about getting out here and doing that in the first place,
but also partially so that he could hook up to me with his winch from behind and pull me back out if need be.

Once again, we see the shoveling hero out there, going after the snow like it was her new hobby.

Oh, as you can see, we picked up a Jeep at this obstacle. None of the other 30-some Jeeps and Land Rovers
that we saw heading out from Downieville to go up Red Elephant came this far
(which was their plan from what I recall in conversation with some of them), but these guys decided,
since we were cutting the trail, they'd join us. The more the merrier.  :)

Here's FJinCO going through this spot

On this one, FJinCO went first. For some reason, it seemed like a bit much, given the orientation, for my setup.
As it turned out, it was indeed a bit much. It took some winching to get him through.

After all of that, I was able to walk Sandi through it. It's nice when somebody else punches through first.

Next, we had some snow drift fun at the old mud pit area.
Here's the link to the next page.
