Sandi, the Fossil Journey Cruiser:
a Boulder Sandstorm at Every Fork in the Road

Bill Moore Lake with FJinCO (and a couple guys in a Jeep) (20100619)

The next major obstacle area of the day was a double snow bank at the old mud pit.
I say 'old' because, although I've never been there, I heard that they have since filled it in quite a bit.

Here is the only flower patch that I wandered out into that day.

I was definitely letting FJinCO try this one first; it was clear he'd probably have to winch himself through first.

Yep. Here he is, getting the winch line and straps all lined up.

Oops....not enough length in the winch line and straps. Guess we'll have to help a little bit...

Oh, there we go....found one more little strap to add to the mix, and that did the trick.
At this point we had about four straps added to the winch line in order to get all the way from FJinCO's rig,
to the rock, and around the whole thing (no other way to connect to it).
What an anchor point, eh?

As I was standing there to monitor the condition of the straps around the rock when he started winching,
I noticed the water and bubbles gurgling up through the mud, and recorded a bit of it...

Next, here's FJinCO winching himself through the drifts

Then I got through; following in his tracks

After the two FJCs got through, the Jeep got stuck on the first of these two spots.
[this video shows some more of the beautiful surroundings]

After some work, the Jeep got through

Then, on the other side of the mud pit area, there was this other snow drift to get through.
The Jeep needed a little help here too.

Finally, the last major snow obstacle of the day is next.
Here's the link.
