Fall Colors on Caribou Creek Trail (20100926)

It was 'fall colors'
time, and on this day, JammerGirl and I went to Caribou Creek to check out some Aspens.
Here's the Trail Damage page for this trail
(LINK).
This trail goes through the forest West of the 'Peak to Peak Highway', just
North of Nederland.
It has two main access points; one is at Caribou
and the other is on the road to the University of Colorado Mountain Research
Station
Here's
the link to the
thread about this trail run on the forum.
As I mentioned (and as with my solo trail run the day before),
it's 'fall colors' time. So, many of these photos are just that ....checking out
the beauty along the way.
We weren't the only ones in the area.
This one didn't go on Caribou Creek Trail like we did, but there are a few other
places to go out this way.
I had to turn around to come back to this spot.
JammerGirl.....snacking in the woods :)
Right about when we got to the next scenic spot, we saw this Forest Service
truck go by.
We got smiles and waves :-)
I think I'd like to see this image in one of those 'photo in glass' things (like
they have at Omibus in Estes).
This is the spot where the trail crosses the Caribou Creek, near the North end
of the trail.
After noticing how much background there was along with Sandi in the reflection
on the photo above,
I decided to do this with it....making the reflection become the main scene.
here's an animation showing the different stages along the way of making this
image...
Back on our way again after the stop at the creek.
OK, maybe this is too many pics of the sun, but oh well...it's so hard to
choose...
Here are some photos at the end of the trail run......this is at Caribou;
looking East toward Nederland.
This is some of what's left of the old mining town...
We went back down to Ned. on Caribou Rd.
It was nice to cap off this weekend of fall colors with this trail together with
JammerGirl.
Here's my solo run the day before (LINK).
