one more look at Sandi before heading out on the [short] hike...
Here we are hiking to the crash site...
The first main piece we noticed was the tail of the air plane.
Then there was this thing. Based on pieces found later, we surmised that this
may have been the exhaust duct.
This piece had an interestingly scrawled part number. One thought (in light of
the non-factory look to the text)
was
that it may not have been an original, manufacturer part
number,
but rather, something used by the crash investigators to catalog all of the
pieces and parts.
Then we hiked down the mountainside to try to find the engine.
