Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 - Uncomphagre Peak Summit Attempt with Jared (4RnrJ) on 2010 FJ Summit Eve
This is Blue Mesa Reservoir in Curecanti National Recreation Area (link); we stopped here on our journey from Lake City to Gunnison.
This is the largest body of water in Colorado.
It has a 'windsurfing area' which is very attractive to JammerGirl. So, I'm pretty sure we'll be getting back here a bit more in the future.
We made a stop at the campus of Western State College when passing through Gunnison.
presumably places intended for campus affiliated folks to live, but not sure
there's a bit of construction happening on campus right now
OK......actually this place was the reason for wanting to go check out Gunnison in the first place...
then we headed up the highway a half hour to check out Crested Butte and the Mt. Crested Butte ski area

We went through some pretty nasty thunderstorms on our way to Gunnison.
Then, on our way back to Ouray (this was about Ridgway), I noticed something brewing in that direction again.
Well, we enjoyed the day, and the whole vacation so far.
Now it's time for the 2010 FJ Summit (registration starting tomorrow morning).
