Bunce School Road Tour (20100508)

Not really much in the way of offroading on this event.
I just had a heavy week at work, and JammerGirl and I went for a relaxing drive
in the mountains.
This is the North end of Bunce School Road
the historic Bunce School
This is the intersection of 105 (Bunce School Rd.) and 217.
Once we got to this point, we knew we had done Bunce before, because we started
out
(on what we now know is Bunce School Rd.)
from Camp Dick many years ago, and this is where we turned and went south on 217
out to highway 72.
Watch out for broken down domestics......man, even their trailers can't make it.
[tongue-in-cheek, of course]
I didn't really think of it when we had to drive around it to get through here,
but I kinda felt like a dork when
we came back through later and saw that the forest service folks had moved it
out of the way.
They quickly comforted me with the fact that it's someone's personal property
(and ya never know),
and it was probably best that I left it like I did.
Looking East toward the Miller Rock area here. Of course, this was much prettier
in person.
We just recently got new tires on Sandi. So,
there are a few like this on this page, just to get a good look at em.
Actually, I really liked the mountain in the background on this one.
This is pretty much the only place on the trail that I can recall where you
absolutely have to drive over rocks.
Everywhere else that I can recall (unless it was covered with snow) is just
gravel road.
As you can see, it's no challenge for a motor vehicle (cars would be fine).
JammerGirl and the great outdoors
I love flowers
Did I mention this was partially a 'Sandi's
new shoes' photo shoot?
That's it for our mid-spring Bunce School Road tour.
The trail was closed at the gate near Camp Dick (which probably won't open till
sometime in June).
So, we got to see most of Bunce School Rd. in both directions this time around.
:-)
