I should have gone up on the hill on the right to get a shot of the whole group before we took off,
but this is all I got; just as we were leaving the meeting place by Starbucks.

On the highway...

At the trailhead (that's Kenny just going over the entrance hump...three ahead)...

FJCs kinda bunched up near the end...

JammerGirl with a view...

Blue Taco behind...

Checkin out the tippy spot...

Here we are, parked at the campfire/potluck area...
We stayed here to meet-n-greet-n-eat for an hour or two.

Is that a ghost standing next to that other person in this infrared image?

                                                   j/k, of course

I just thought this one looked kinda cool with how different the modified FJC looks next to Sandi.

The old and the new...

Hangin out at the potluck...

JammerGirl meeting Jeanette

the food court...

the Grill-master draws a crowd...

Eating, chatting and mingling in the huddle...

Robbie's fire (w00t!!)

...made for a nice, warm, break from the winter conditions brewing that night

staying warm on the non-smoky side of the fire...

Can you guess where this is?

As I was getting them ready to put on the exterior, I placed a couple of the magnetic LEDs on Sandi's FJammer

Here she is, all dolled up...
[of course, this wasn't quite like Independence Day in Ouray this year, but still neato. Also, I know I should have done it in all orange,
and as a result, it looks a bit more like X-mas, but I just didn't have time to get ready like that (with being sick and all).]

After the potluck, it was time to get back on the trail and go around the loop (continuing counter-clockwise).

I like how this one looks with the HID back-light from another rig behind it...

Into the night...

How many Toyota's can you identify in this shot?

moonshine

What a beautiful sight...

The woods were on fire with the Rising Sun in the middle of the night...

The image above was modified from this one...

looking back...

...it was a lot of fun.
Thanks again to the Rising Sun (Tim, for organizing) for another great event.

More details...
After the first few blocks worth of the trail, there was snow covering the trail the rest of the way.
Some of the little climb sections were a bit slippery, and some of us had to rev it a bit to get through.

Some had CB. Some had ham. Few had both. Usually the 'both' guys would relay info to us CBers,
but some of the important conversations only happened on ham (reminds me of the days when I only had FRS and missed out on what was happening on CB).
No complaints....sometimes there's just too much going on.

We heard that one rig made it through the tough spot (a hill climb through snow). Then another made it.
Then one went back to help someone that got stuck. Then heard that they got "unstuck"   - "No, not I'm stuck, but unstuck".... :-)

As it turned out, we did not end up finishing the loop (didn't even make it to the spot being talked about with the snow climb).
At one point, we were sitting in the dark for what seemed like an hour (it may have only been a half hour) before we learned the news...

One of the 40s broke down (something about the rig losing "the pinion" ...still not sure whether it was the pinion in the steering system or the differential).
So, we had to turn around and go back the way we came (probably after only about a third of the loop).

Thanks to Marco for heading down in front of us. It helped to get to see another rig go through first;
and he spotted me a bit on the lumpy hill section.

Unfortunately, Redcreeper got kinda left in the dust (the snow dust, that is), and had to come down some spooky spots on his own.
Sorry about that, Kenny (we thought you had others around you...I should have gone back to check),
and good job navigating down that lumpy hill section by your self.

p.s. If anyone sends me names (real, or forum username) and rig ID, or whatever, I'll add them to the appropriate place on this page.
Also, if I've posted a name here that you don't want posted, please let me know and I'll remove it.
